Non-QM Regional Sales Manager

Responsibilities

Responsible for the management of a team of Account Executives and broker relationship development within the assigned Sales region with a focus of selling Carrington Specialty Products (non-agency) and services. Responsible for meeting sales goals and working with operations to close loans in a timely manner and resolve any issues that may arise. Identify and recruit new Account Executives. Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures and all state and federal regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Carries out supervisory/management responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws, including hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; monitoring performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints; and resolving problems.
  • Responsible for recruiting, directing, training, developing and motivating Account Executives.
  • Manage and coach direct reports to achieve division objectives, including establishing appropriate timelines, monitoring progress, and maintaining effective communication with direct reports.
  • Mentor, coach, and assist Account Executives in building & maintaining exceptional relationships with brokers and setting up new broker relationships.
  • Provide oversight to Account Executives in communicating changes in Carrington loan programs, rates and/or policies to mortgage brokers.
  • Supervise loan submission, maintain high levels of service, and manage for high quality and timely results within an assigned sales region.
  • Responsible for achieving sales goals on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Analyzes production statistics and results routinely to identify opportunities for increasing and improving performance across assigned team.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production projections and report projections/findings to management.
  • Ensure that Account Executives are updating CRM system with sales activities, marketing efforts, and broker/contact records they are soliciting.
  • Review and validate completeness of new broker applications submitted.
  • Resolves any sales or operational issues that may arise in the most efficient manner and in line with company guidelines.
  • Partner with operations staff to ensure expedient process of file flow.
  • Responsible for communicating, implementing and maintaining marketing strategies and policy and procedure changes within assigned region.
  • Ensure that all sales activities and operations are performed in compliance with local, state and federal lending regulations and laws governing business operations.
  • Participate in the development and facilitation of training and presentations for sales meetings, training sessions, etc.
  • Assists senior sales leadership in the budgeting process and development of regional goals.
  • May attend and represent Carrington at trade shows or industry meetings.
  • Work a flexible schedule and travel as necessary.

Qualifications
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & LICENSES
  • Excellent knowledge of non-agency lending
  • Excellent knowledge of the mortgage origination process
  • Expert knowledge of, FHA, VA and conventional lending policies and practices
  • Expert knowledge of FHA, VA, USDA, conventional, and non-agency lending guidelines
  • Knowledge of state and federal lending regulations
  • Complete understanding of credit, title, escrow, underwriting, loan processing and closing functions
  • Strong working knowledge of Carrington policies, procedures, guidelines and organization structure
  • Knowledge of underwriting guidelines and investor requirements generally in the mortgage industry with the ability to learn the Carrington specific policies
  • Ability to learn Carrington’s loan origination system if new to the company • Ability to learn quickly and retain information about Carrington, its sales process flow, its products and the specialty lending industry
  • Ability to follow CMS Mortgage Lending loan protocols

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5 – 10+ years’ experience in mortgage origination, preferably in a multi-state company
  • Previous management / supervisory experience is required, preferably in a sales organization.
  • Minimum 2 years in government mortgage experience
  • Current Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) License from NMLS required in applicable state jurisdictions

Account Executives

As a result of our continuing growth and success, Carrington Mortgage Services, LLC is seeking Dynamic Account Executives for our Wholesale & Correspondent Division in the Chicagoland area as well as nationwide! Develops and maintains wholesale mortgage loan production for FHA, USDA, VA, and conventional loan products.  Calls on potential or existing customers as assigned to develop new business or retain existing business. Acts as a liaison between wholesale broker and loan operations.

  • Contacts and sets appointments with new and existing wholesale mortgage brokers
  • Advises brokers of changes to company policies and procedures
  • Assist broker with the loan submission process
  • Trains brokers on use of available online systems
  • Manages loan pipeline to achieve departmental goals and objectives
  • Ensures compliance deadlines are met

Account Managers

Responsibilities

The Sr. Account Manager will provide processing and sales support for loan applications received from Wholesale Loan Brokers. Works with assigned Account Executives and Brokers to facilitate the management of the loan applications from submission to closing. Perform all duties in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures, all US state and federal laws and regulations, wherein the company operates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • The main contact of communication and support between the Broker and the various departments and individuals of the company throughout the process of the loan includes but not limited to Account Executive(s), Underwriting, Quality Control, Docs, and Funding.
  • Is responsible for excellent customer service.
  • Pulls or verifies credit reports, flood certs, and review appraisals as needed.
  • Ensures compliance deadlines are met with regards to pre-disclosures, approval letters, cancellation, and declinations.
  • Monitors incoming documents from Broker verifying the data collected and submitted by brokers.
  • Obtains necessary stipulations from brokers and clears any stipulations prior to funding as required by underwriting.
  • Proactively monitors pipeline to ensure timely funding of loans.
  • Meets with Account Executives regarding their pipelines and updates the Account Executive daily.
  • Communicates with the Broker at a minimum of every other day and updates all necessary parties (as well as notes in DataTrac.)
  • Enters required data in computer system and maintains the accuracy of the data.
  • Informs the Broker and Account Executive about any discrepancies in the title, appraisals, credit, employment, income and other related items in the loan file.
  • Orders Verifications of Employment and Deposit to assist with the prefunding QC process.
  • Assists departmental support staff when necessary.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Maintains highly confidential information concerning loan applicants.
  • FHA & VA background.
  • Full knowledge of RESPA regulations as it pertains to the GFE.
  • Requires a high level of organizational skills and the ability to work on several files simultaneously.
  • Constant contact with borrowers, brokers, agents, loan officers, and internal office staff.
  • Significant coordination of various duties required. Office machines such as computers, copiers, fax machines. Sitting for extended time periods. Hearing and vision within the normal range.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Calyx Point, DataTrac experience preferred.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize workload, meet deadlines, and handle detailed assignments.
  • Strong customer service skills.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
  • A combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Five or more years of experience as a Wholesale Account Manager or mortgage Loan Processor with multiple Brokers, Account Executives, Investors, and loan products.
  • Must demonstrate a thorough knowledge of all aspects of wholesale loan production and mortgage loan processing.

Loan Funder

Responsibilities

Are you a Funder who is interested in being a part of an entrepreneurial and dynamic organization that is re-setting the bar for an entire industry? What you’ll do:

  • Review all loan documents for completeness and accuracy
  • Full knowledge of RESPA 2010 pertaining to HUD-1’s
  • Must have FHA experience
  • Work closely with Account Managers, Brokers and Escrow company to ensure loan funds in a timely manner
  • Ensure quality and compliance of work with Company policies and procedures and Investor guidelines
  • Maintain a thorough working knowledge of Company and regulatory changes that effect the funding process
  • Review signed loan documents to maintain compliance with federal, state and local law and Company policies and procedures
  • Review signed loan documents for correct signatures, notary information, title reports and escrow instructions
  • Ensure underwriter sign off prior to funding and resolves any pre-funding problems
  • Review and approve HUD-1 settlement statement from closing agent
  • Verify and prepare wire transfer instructions as well as verifying loan amounts, fees, rates, discount points, broker rebates and other funding amounts
  • Input funding information into the loan system(s)
  • Follow up with any post-closing issues that may arise

Qualifications

What you’ll Need:

  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree and an equivalent combination and/or experience that demonstrates a thorough knowledge of mortgage loan funding
  • Two to four years of experience as a mortgage loan funder with multiple investors, loan products and warehouse lines
  • Excellent computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Calyx Point, DataTrac, DU, LP, Doc Magic and other AUS experience is preferred
  • Title and Escrow experience would be helpful

Loan Setup

Responsibilities

The Loan Set Up Specialist is responsible for daily input of loan applications submissions from wholesale brokers into internal loan origination system. What you’ll do:

  • Receives loan applications submissions from wholesale brokers either by electronic data file or hard copy file.
  • Enter or verifies information into loan origination system.
  • Reviews new loan documentation to assure accuracy.
  • Submits file to Wholesale Account Manager for processing.
  • Assists departmental support staff when necessary.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Underwriter

Underwriters are responsible for underwriting loans in accordance with Company and Investor guidelines following company’s policies and procedures under general supervision. Makes sound underwriting decisions and ensures that all decisions meet legal and policy requirements.

What you’ll do:

  • Performs a thorough analysis to ensure the quality of each loan and to determine compliance with Company and Investor guidelines.
  • Performs a thorough analysis of collateral to ensure property meets investor guidelines and the appraisal quality and completeness is acceptable.
  • Applies and interprets company underwriting guidelines and makes sound credit decision. Completes credit, analysis of income, analysis of property, ensures proper audits are completed and verifies consistency of loan file information.
  • Identifies risk factors within each loan and utilizes resources, tools and documentation to detect red flags and clear inconsistencies.
  • Reviews and evaluates credit information on mortgage loan documents to determine acceptability for specific loan programs.
  • Determines any conditions, stipulations or pre-funding requirements.
  • Reviews and clears underwriting conditions, stipulations or pre-funding requirements received.
  • Communicates with clients, sales teams and operations teams to resolve outstanding issues as they arise. Assists departmental support staff when necessary.
  • Resolves and responds to post-closing credit exceptions received from investors and auditors when required on loans underwritten.
  • Maintains ongoing knowledge of investor guidelines, updates and trends as applicable to underwriting position.
  • Completes second signature underwriting review on loan files underwritten by junior underwriters and within designated authority as needed.

  • Paperless Loan Origination System experience preferred.
  • FHA Direct Endorsement designation and/or VA SAR designation highly preferred.
