FHA Case Transfers

Overview

Effective immediately, Carrington Mortgage Services, LLC (CMS) will require Brokers to transfer all FHA Cases to CMS prior to submission to Underwriting.  The Broker must request the case transfer from the Prior Lender currently holding the case number to the CMS Lender ID (FHA Sponsor Number: 24751-0000-5).  The Prior Lender must initiate the transfer in FHA Connection. The Case transfer process can take 1-3 business days.
In order to proceed with the submission to underwriting, the Broker must obtain and submit to CMS a screenshot of the completed Case transfer request from the transferring Lender.  Upon receipt the screenshot, CMS will confirm transfer status in FHA Connection. CMS will then move the file to underwriting once the transfer has been completed by HUD and all applicable Prior to Approval (PTA) conditions have been provided.
Please Note: CMS will still disclose the loan submission without the transfer being completed.
